Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, special envoys for US President Donald Trump, arrived in Moscow on September 5, Russian state-run media outlet RIA Novosti reports.

“An aircraft carrying Witkoff and Kushner has landed at Vnukovo Airport,” Russian propaganda media reported.

According to the reports, Trump’s team was met by Kirill Dmitriev, Russian leader Vladimir Putin’s special representative for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries.

Russian media also published the first video showing Witkoff and Kushner’s motorcade in Moscow.

The visit comes after it was reported that the United States had asked Ukraine not to strike Russian energy facilities because of the visit by Trump’s envoys.

Against this backdrop, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy publicly stated that Ukraine would ensure the safe operation of Russian airspace so that the negotiators could arrive safely.

He also called on Russia to make a reciprocal commitment. However, Russia refused to do so.

Recently, Trump announced that Witkoff and Kushner were carrying a proposal to Kyiv and Moscow aimed at ending the war.

Earlier on September 5, Zelenskyy said that Russia had attacked Kyiv and Boryspil airports, where Trump’s envoys could have arrived.

Meanwhile, Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, said that Ukraine had proposed a ceasefire with Russia on the battlefield.
