Russia unleashes night attack with 20 strikes and drones from five directions

Russian troops attacked Ukraine overnight with nearly two hundred drones. Most of the enemy targets were eliminated by air defense forces, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“On the night of February 27, the enemy attacked Ukraine with 187 strike UAVs of the Shahed type, Gerbera, Italmas, and drones of other types from five directions, about 120 of them Shaheds,” the Air Force said in a statement.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare, and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
According to preliminary data as of 08:30 am (Kyiv time), air defense shot down or suppressed 165 enemy drones of the Shahed type, Gerbera, Italmas, and other types in the north, south, and east of the country. At the same time, 20 strike drones hit 14 locations.
“The attack is ongoing, several enemy UAVs remain in the airspace. Follow safety rules,” the Air Force added.
Attack on Ukraine on February 27
Russian troops attacked several regions of Ukraine overnight. The enemy attacked central Sumy in the early morning. As a result of the attack, a fire broke out, and rescuers evacuated about 50 people.
Besides, Russians attacked civilian and port infrastructure in the Odesa region with strike drones. Unfortunately, two people were injured — a 3-year-old girl and a 44-year-old man. Both were hospitalized in moderate condition.
Damage was also recorded to port reservoirs and a construction crane, the facade and windows of a residential building, cars, a medical facility, and a kindergarten building was destroyed.
