Drones attack Signal defense plant in Russia's Stavropol: Details

This morning, July 27, drones attacked Stavropol in Russia. The attack targeted the Signal defense plant, according to Shot.
The plant produces electronic warfare equipment for aircraft and ground targets, including the Topol-E.
According to residents, at about 5 a.m., a series of loud explosions were heard in the sky above the city.
What local authorities say
Governor Vladimir Vladimirov noted that an attack by drones was repelled in Stavropol this morning.
"There are strikes on the territory of industrial facilities in Stavropol. Residential buildings, the city's life support systems, are not damaged. There was a small fire, and it was extinguished. There are no injuries or deaths. The information is being clarified," he noted.
Signal plant
The enterprise was founded in 1971, and since 2012, the plant has been part of the Rostec state corporation. Currently, the plant produces active jamming stations for aviation, land, and sea use, protection against electrochemical corrosion, etc.
Due to Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the plant is under sanctions from the European Union, the USA, Ukraine, and Japan.
Strikes on Russian defense plants
Since the start of the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russian defense plants have often been attacked by strike drones of various types. In particular, in early July, the Energia plant in Yelets was attacked, and the Russians reported damage.
The Tambov gunpowder plant in the city of Kotovsk also recently caught fire. According to local authorities, at least three Russians died from the strike.
This is not the first time that the Tambov gunpowder plant has been targeted by drones. The previous strike took place on June 11, then residents counted at least 10 explosions. As a result, the plant temporarily suspended operations.
There was also a Defense Intelligence of Ukraine's attack on the Kotovsk plant in November 2023. In addition, there were several raids in 2024.
