Russia reported a fire at the Tambov Powder Plant on July 3. This enterprise has been repeatedly targeted by Ukrainian drones, reports Astra.

The governor of the Tambov region announced the fire at the plant on Thursday, July 3. The media reported that the Tambov Powder Plant in Kotovsk was on fire.

According to the governor, three people died in the fire, and three others were injured.

The Russians claim that the fire was allegedly caused by a violation of technological processes. The security forces opened a criminal case over violations of industrial safety requirements.

On the night of July 3, the local airport in Tambov was suspended over an air threat.

Strikes on the Kotovsk plant

The Tambov Powder Plant is one of Russia's largest enterprises, producing ammunition and gunpowder. The plant has been repeatedly targeted by Ukrainian drones.

Ukraine's drones attacked the plant in Kotovsk in November 2023. There were also several raids on the plant in 2024.

The last attack on the Russian plant was on the night of June 11, 2025. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that a fire broke out at the plant after the attack.
