Dozens of sites damaged in Ukrainian city of Chernihiv after Russian attack

On the night of January 5, the Russian army carried out a combined attack on Chernihiv, resulting in significant damage to civilian infrastructure, Chernihiv City Military Administration head Dmytro Bryzhynskyi reported.
As reported by the Chernihiv City Military Administration, eight garages were destroyed in the city, while another 96 garage facilities sustained damage. Buildings used for utility and warehouse purposes on the territory of one municipal institution, as well as a utility structure belonging to one of the city's enterprises, were destroyed.
In addition, a direct hit on a private residential house was recorded, causing a fire. In total, 15 private homes were damaged, with windows and doors blown out and fences and gates damaged.
Preliminary data indicate no fatalities or injuries among the civilian population. Relevant services are working at the sites, and the consequences of the attack are being documented.
Attack on Kyiv and the region on January 5
On the night of January 5, Russian forces carried out a massive attack on Kyiv. In the Obolonskyi district, a strike drone hit a private clinic, injuring three people, while another man died from his injuries.
Casualties and destruction were also recorded in the Kyiv region. In the Fastiv district, up to ten residential buildings were damaged, along with cars, garages, and warehouse facilities. One resident was killed; his body was found by rescuers while extinguishing a fire in a home.
Overall, on the night into Monday, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with missiles and drones. Strikes and their consequences were recorded in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Slavutych, Poltava, and Kharkiv.
According to the Air Force, Russia used nine Iskander-M ballistic missiles and S-300 surface-to-air guided missiles from the Bryansk and Voronezh regions. Also, launched 165 Shahed, Gerbera, and other types of attack UAVs, about 100 of which were Shahed drones.
