Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar condemned the Russian strikes on residential areas of Kyiv that resulted in civilian deaths, according to a statement from the minister.

"I condemn the Russian strikes against residential neighborhoods in Kyiv, which resulted in an immense and tragic loss of life. Condolences to the families of the victims and wishing a quick recovery to the many injured. I just spoke with the secretary of the Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine, whose home was hit by the strikes," wrote Sa'ar.

The minister added that Israel calls for a strong and lasting peace that ensures security for Ukraine.

Overnight attack on Kyiv: July 31

On the night of July 31, Russian forces launched a massive strike across Ukraine, with Kyiv as the primary target. According to reports, Russia deployed 309 attack drones and eight Iskander-K cruise missiles in the assault.

The bombardment caused widespread destruction across multiple districts of the capital. The Sviatoshynskyi and Solomianskyi districts suffered the most damage, with drone and missile fragments striking residential buildings, non-residential facilities, vehicles, and even a higher education institution.

The attack resulted in over 30 deaths, including children, and more than 150 people were injured.
