Russian strike near shopping center in Ukraine's Pavlohrad: Death and injury toll rises

Pavlohrad has now reported four deaths as a result of the Russian attack on Thursday, September 10. Three children are among the injured, according to a statement by Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS), and a post by the regional prosecutor's office.
Strike on Gulliver
Local media report that Russian forces struck the Gulliver shopping center in the city, and a fire broke out in the building.
"Four people were killed, and more than 60 were injured. Three children are among the injured. They are boys aged 13, 14, and 15. These are the tragic consequences of the Russian attack on Pavlohrad," Hanzha wrote.
He said that all the injured are currently in the hospital and receiving the necessary medical assistance.
State Emergency Service employees injured
Rescuers reported that the attack caused a store, retail kiosks, and cars to catch fire. In addition, State Emergency Service employees were injured while dealing with the aftermath of the strike.

"Two State Emergency Service employees were injured while dealing with the aftermath of the enemy attack. They were hospitalized," the statement said.
Prosecutor's office documents the aftermath
The regional prosecutor's office emphasized that it is documenting the consequences of the Russian strike.
"Preliminarily, three people were killed and 34 were injured, including a child. Prosecutors are documenting the consequences of another Russian war crime," the statement said.

Under the procedural supervision of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, criminal proceedings have been initiated over the commission of a war crime under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Interior Ministry's response
Vyhivskyi said that during an expanded meeting in Dnipro, issues of responding to such terrorist attacks and protecting civilians were discussed.
"Since the beginning of the year alone, Russians have carried out more than 18,000 attacks on the region, mostly drone attacks. Recently, Russian forces have intensified attacks on food warehouses, residential neighborhoods, trains, and shopping malls," his statement said.
The minister recalled that the meeting also addressed strengthening cooperation, protecting important social facilities, and responding during the autumn-winter period.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted to the Russian strike on Pavlohrad.
"Today, in our Pavlohrad, Russians killed people with drones who were simply near shopping centers. As of now, it is known that four people were killed... My condolences to their families and loved ones. More than 60 people were injured in this single strike alone. Everyone is receiving assistance," he said.
The head of state added that Ukraine is working with its partners to provide protection to Ukrainians from Russian terror.

Hanzha reported that five people were killed as a result of the enemy strike. There are currently 67 injured people in hospitals, including eight children.
"By evening, Russian drones had destroyed stores, retail kiosks, and cars here. Part of the street in the city center was effectively destroyed. Ninety percent of the damaged facilities are commercial," he said.

There are now 5 people killed and 67 injured in Pavlohrad. According to the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, 8 children are among those injured.
On August 28, Russian forces attacked Pavlohrad. Four people were injured, and a fire broke out as a result of the attack.
Before that, on August 13, Russia also attacked Pavlohrad. A logistics company came under attack, and a fire broke out on its premises.
In addition, on August 6, Russian forces struck the Ukrposhta sorting depot (postal service) in Pavlohrad with a Bandеrol missile-drone. Two female employees of the company were killed at the time.
