Russia hits postal service depot in Ukraine's Pavlohrad: Two employees killed

On Thursday, August 6, Russian forces struck a Ukrposhta (postal service) sorting depot in Pavlohrad with a Banderol missile-drone. Two female employees were killed in the attack, according to a statement from Ukrposhta CEO Ihor Smilianskyi.
"Today is a difficult day for the Ukrposhta family. In Pavlohrad, a Russian Banderol missile-drone destroyed our sorting depot and the base for our mobile post offices. The most painful thing is that the strike claimed the lives of two employees: Olia and Olia," he said.
Smilianskyi added that a mechanic was also injured in the attack, but his life is not in danger.
He noted that the depot destroyed by Russia served Pavlohrad and nearby villages in the district.
"The enemy wanted to stop our operations here, but we will not let that happen. All backup systems are already in operation. Pensions, medicines, parcels, and letters will continue to be delivered on schedule," the Ukrposhta CEO said.
Smilianskyi warned that minor delays may occur in the first few days as processes are being adjusted. He also said that customers would be compensated for everything destroyed in the strike.
On the morning of August 1, Russian forces attacked the crew of a Ukrposhta mobile post office in Ukraine's Chernihiv region with drones. Two employees were injured in the strike.
During a massive Russian attack on the night of August 5, facilities belonging to Epicentr, ROZETKA, and Nova Poshta were damaged.
