"France is calling for an urgent meeting of the United Nations Security Council. I am in close contact with our European partners and friends in the Middle East," Macron wrote on X.
According to the French leader, the start of the war among the US, Israel, and Iran carries serious consequences for international peace and security.
He emphasized that all measures are being taken to ensure the security of France's national territory, its citizens, and interests in the Middle East. Macron also warned that this escalation is dangerous for everyone.
"France… stands ready to deploy the necessary resources to protect its closest partners, should they request it. The ongoing escalation is dangerous for all. It must stop," the president noted.
Macron added that the Iranian regime has no choice but to seriously engage in negotiations to halt its nuclear and ballistic programs, as well as its regional destabilization activities.
"This is absolutely necessary for the security of all in the Middle East. The Iranian people must also be able to freely build their future," the French leader wrote.
Summing up his comments on the Iranian people, Macron stressed that the mass killings carried out by the Islamic regime have deprived them of their voice. He highlighted that this right must be restored as soon as possible.
Middle East war
On February 28, Israel launched a preemptive strike on Iran to neutralize security threats. A state of emergency was declared in the country due to the risk of retaliatory strikes.
The attack on Iran is a joint operation between Israel and the United States.
US President Donald Trump confirmed that the US launched a military campaign in Iran to eliminate threats from the current regime. He stated that the operation's main goal is to protect the American people and their allies.
In response, Iran launched missiles toward Israeli territory and struck US military facilities in Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, and Kuwait.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the nation amid the mutual strikes, urging citizens to remain calm in the coming days.
