Coalition of the Willing sends team to US to work on guarantees for Ukraine

The Coalition of the Willing will send military planners to the US to coordinate security guarantees and prepare for the deployment of deterrence forces to Ukraine, The Guardian reports.
Coalition members agreed to meet with their American counterparts "in the coming days to further strengthen plans to deliver robust security guarantees and prepare for the deployment of a reassurance force if the hostilities ended."
The leaders of the Coalition of the Willing also discussed ways to increase pressure on Russian leader Vladimir Putin, including through sanctions.
The coalition currently includes 30 countries.
Security guarantees for Ukraine
One of the main topics at the White House meeting on August 18 was security guarantees for Ukraine. The talks included the presidents of Ukraine, the US, France, and Finland, Germany’s Chancellor, the Prime Ministers of the UK and Italy, as well as the EU Commission President and NATO Secretary General.
Allies discussed the possibility of providing Ukraine with security guarantees based on NATO’s Article 5 principles, but outside the alliance itself.
Donald Trump said the US would participate in these guarantees, though the main burden would fall on European partners, and ruled out sending American troops to Ukraine.
Earlier, the Coalition of the Willing announced its readiness to deploy deterrence forces. Zelenskyy emphasized that details of the upcoming guarantees are expected to be finalized within the next 10 days. French President Emmanuel Macron called the next two weeks critically important.
