Trump: American troops won't go to Ukraine, Europe will guarantee security

Several European countries plan to deploy their troops in Ukraine after the end of the war with Russia. But American soldiers will not join them, US President Donald Trump says on Fox News.
When asked about the prospect of security guarantees for Ukraine, Trump replied that European countries “are going to provide them at the early stages.”
“They're (Ukraine – ed.) not going to be a part of NATO, but we've got the European nations and they'll front-load it. Some of them, France, Germany, couple of them, UK, they want to have boots on the ground,” he said.
In the view of the American leader, this will not be a problem.
“I think Putin is tired of it. I think they are all tired of it. But you never know. We'll going to find out about President Putin in the next couple of weeks, that I can tell you. We’ll gonna where it all goes,” the US president added.
When asked if he could guarantee that there would be no American troops in Ukraine, Trump gave the guarantees.
He added that he was just trying to prevent people from being killed.
Security guarantees for Ukraine
The media reported earlier that the US and the EU are preparing security guarantees for Ukraine ahead of a possible summit between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian leader Vladimir Putin. The administrations are working on strengthening Kyiv’s defense capabilities without restrictions.
Following the summit with US President Donald Trump and European leaders on August 18, Zelenskyy also stated that Ukraine would have security guarantees.
“National security advisors are also in constant contact now. There will be security guarantees. And we will do everything to make the path to peace a reality - through partnership, through security guarantees, and through the courage of the Ukrainian people,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
According to NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, over the past few months, several nations, including Australia and Japan, have been working on security guarantees for Ukraine.
