Ukraine ready for energy ceasefire but awaits Russia’s list of facilities - MFA

Ukraine is ready to introduce ceasefire arrangements and is waiting for Russia to provide specific lists of facilities to coordinate the details, states Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi during a briefing on the energy ceasefire.
Ukraine’s position on a ceasefire
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson stressed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had already outlined Ukraine’s comprehensive position on a possible energy ceasefire.
Ukraine has long been proposing such a ceasefire itself. It should be honest, fair, and genuinely cover all the necessary areas.
Kyiv insists that if such an arrangement is introduced, all Ukrainian facilities must be protected, and the use of any type of weapon against them must be completely prohibited.
"If the Russians are serious about this, let them provide lists of the facilities and clarify the details. We are waiting for this... We would like Russia to also demonstrate its readiness for this de-escalation. I think then all the necessary solutions can be found," Tykhyi said.
Talks and international efforts
The Foreign Ministry stressed that the United States' efforts to reach this agreement are an important and timely step.
In addition, according to the diplomat, several other partner countries are working to find solutions in the areas of energy and grain exports. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha had also previously reported on these efforts.
Ukraine is demonstrating full commitment to a constructive approach and readiness for de-escalation even amid the war, and expects reciprocal steps from the Russian side.
US initiative and Russia’s position
US President Donald Trump proposed establishing an energy ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.
The Kremlin reacted positively to the idea. However, the Russian leader's spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that halting strikes on oil refineries would not solve all the problems of the global market.
At the same time, according to the Financial Times, Russian President Vladimir Putin does not intend to agree to such a deal before the winter period.
