Strike aftermath

According to the regional military chief, Russian forces struck Zaporizhzhia city, triggering a fire in garage facilities.

Emergency services are currently working at the scene, and the area is being inspected.

Five people sustained shrapnel wounds as a result of the attack. Among the injured is a 12-year-old girl.

This followed warnings of the threat of guided aerial bomb strikes across the region.

Ukrainian Zaporizhzhia under Russian attacks

Zaporizhzhia and the surrounding region remain under sustained Russian strikes. Russian forces regularly hit residential areas and infrastructure using guided aerial bombs, drones, and artillery.

The massive attacks cause significant damage and result in civilian casualties. On April 21 alone, Russia carried out 725 strikes on Zaporizhzhia and the Zaporizhzhia district, killing two people and injuring ten others.

In addition, Russian troops deliberately target transport and social infrastructure. On the morning of April 22, Russian forces struck transport infrastructure in the Zaporizhzhia region, killing one person.

On April 16, Russia also dropped a guided aerial bomb directly on Zaporizhzhia city. A prayer house was completely destroyed in that strike, killing one person and injuring several others. The region continues to suffer daily from such actions of the Russian military.
