Despite the ceasefire extension proposed by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Kremlin has resumed strikes on Ukraine, attacking several regions at once. At this time, a hit on an energy facility of Chernihiv Regional Energy Company is reported, according to Chernihiv Regional Energy Company and the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Due to damage to an energy facility in the Chernihiv region, 12,000 consumers remain without electricity. Specialists plan a rapid restoration of the power supply, but they need to wait until the air raid alert in the region is over.
Ukrainian military reports that Russian forces launched their kamikaze drones toward Zaporizhzhia, Poltava region, Kharkiv region, and Dnipropetrovsk region. Air danger is also observed in the Sumy region. Russian forces are attacking the region with guided aerial bombs.
What is known about the Easter ceasefire
During the holiday ceasefire proposed to Moscow by Volodymyr Zelenskyy, 175 defenders and 7 civilians were freed from Russian captivity. Some of them are wounded. Most had been in captivity since 2022.
During the major Christian holiday, Russian forces killed an evacuation group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the time of the incident, the ceasefire had already lasted for one and a half hours.
Russian forces did not spare their own soldiers either. They struck with drones at Russian army soldiers who had ended up in captivity of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In total, during the ceasefire, the Russian army carried out more than two thousand attacks in one day. Drones and missiles were not launched, but hostilities did not stop — Russian forces continued to engage in combat.
