Captured Chinese soldier says he nearly died from Russian chemical weapons

The Russian army uses chemical weapons in combat, one of the Chinese citizens recently captured by the Ukrainian Armed Forces stated during a press conference with journalists.
The Chinese man, identified as Wang Guangjun, said Russian forces deployed chemical weapons at the moment he was being captured by Ukrainian troops.
He described how there was no air left to breathe in the dugout afterward. He also said he began to lose consciousness and that his vision has remained impaired since the attack.
The prisoners added that they didn't kill Ukrainian soldiers, and they also mentioned hearing that a foreigner serving in the Russian army had committed suicide in Rostov.
Ukrainian forces capture Chinese citizens
Recently, soldiers of the 81st Separate Airmobile Slobozhanska Brigade of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces captured two Chinese nationals in the Donetsk region. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy released a video showing the prisoners.
Following this, Ukraine summoned China’s chargé d’affaires over the involvement of Chinese citizens in the war on Russia’s side. Meanwhile, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated it was “verifying the situation” with Ukraine.
RBC-Ukraine, citing intelligence sources, reported that Ukraine’s Security Service has interrogated the captured Chinese nationals and identified them by name.
Later, RBC-Ukraine obtained documents indicating that Chinese military personnel are fighting en masse against Ukraine as part of the Russian army.
In response to these developments, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov claimed that Russia is not drawing China into the war against Ukraine, emphasizing the strong strategic partnership between the two countries.
