Ukrainian soldiers captured Chinese soldiers who were fighting on the side of Russia at the front. Beijing has responded for the first time, Sky News reports, citing Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian.

In particular, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in its statement, said that it is currently "verifying the situation" with Ukraine.

In addition, the Chinese Ministry reminded that it has always advised its citizens to stay away from areas of armed conflict and not to interfere in them.

Chinese soldiers captured in Donetsk region

On April 8, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukrainian forces captured Chinese soldiers during battles in the Donetsk region. The Ukrainian military was able to obtain their documents and identify their identities.

The Chinese soldiers were captured near the settlements of Tarasivka and Bilohorivka. Ukrainian forces engaged in combat with six Chinese soldiers, two of whom were captured.
