In Moscow, it is believed that Ukraine, the US, and Russia have "truly come closer" to a solution to end the war, states Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov, according to RIA Novosti.
"I believe that December 25, 2025, will remain in our memory as a milestone when we truly came closer to a solution. But whether we can make the final push and reach an agreement depends on our work and the political will of the other side," Ryabkov said.
The official of the aggressor country cynically accused Ukraine and the European Union of allegedly not wanting to negotiate and of "doubling their efforts" to sabotage the agreement.
Peace negotiations
Last weekend, Kremlin special envoy and CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund Kirill Dmitriev visited Miami and met with US officials to discuss ending Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Following that dialogue, he made no statements to the press.
Yesterday, December 25, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that the negotiation process is experiencing "slow but correct progress," without specifying the details.
Meanwhile, today, December 26, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that Moscow and Washington have agreed to continue the negotiations.
A meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump is already scheduled for December 28.
According to the Ukrainian president, he plans to discuss security guarantees as well as all issues on which the two countries have disagreements.
