The Kremlin claimed an alleged "slow but steady progress" in negotiations with the US regarding the war in Ukraine and once again accused European countries of supposedly intending to "torpedo" peace initiatives, according to a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova for Russian propaganda.

"In the negotiation process regarding a settlement in Ukraine — I mean the negotiation process with the United States — there is slow but steady progress,” Zakharova said during a briefing for propagandists.

At the same time, according to Zakharova, the Kremlin is ready to "continue working" with the United States. However, as before, only "within the framework set at the highest level in Anchorage" — meaning that the Kremlin automatically rejects all other peace plans.

Zakharova also once again dared to accuse European countries of attempting to disrupt the so-called negotiations, in particular of "torpedoing these efforts and derailing all diplomatic work." In effect, through Zakharova, the Kremlin demanded that the US pressure Europe to exclude it from the negotiation process.

"In dialogue with the US administration, we consistently urge our colleagues to actively oppose this destructive process," she said.

US President Donald Trump, for some reason, believes that it is supposedly entirely possible to resolve the war in Ukraine and achieve lasting peace there within the next 90 days. For this, Washington plans to pressure both sides — Russia and Ukraine.

The Kremlin is completely opposed to Washington’s approach. As media outlets have revealed, Russia will demand changes to the latest version of the US peace plan for ending the war in Ukraine, which consists of 20 points.
