The United Kingdom announced a major air defense aid package for Ukraine worth nearly €685 million during a Ramstein-format meeting, according to UK Defense Secretary John Healey.
"Kyiv will receive air defence systems, missiles, and automated turrets to shoot down drones", Healey said.
The UK defense secretary is co-chairing the 32nd meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the Ramstein format.
"The UK's £600m air defence investment this year is critical help to Ukrainians as they defend their towns, cities and energy infrastructure from Russia's barbaric attacks," he added.
Healey also stressed that, together with partners, London is working to provide vital support to Ukraine’s defense in order to put the country in the strongest possible position to secure peace.
UK military aid to Ukraine
Earlier, London decided to transfer 350 ASRAAM air defense missiles to Ukraine using proceeds from frozen Russian assets.
It was also reported that more than $1.3 billion in revenue from frozen Russian assets has been directed toward military aid for Ukraine. Using these funds, the UK purchased ammunition, missiles, and drones under new defense contracts.
In addition, Britain will invest £350 million ($472 million) this year to scale up drone deliveries to Ukraine to 100,000 units.
The UK Ministry of Defense also said that Operation Interflex — a program combining combat and leadership training for Ukrainian troops — will be extended at least through the end of 2026.
