Bahraini Crown Prince Salman Al Khalifa stated that his country has no intention of transferring US-purchased Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine. He made the remark during a joint press conference with US President Donald Trump.

Journalists asked Al Khalifa whether Bahrain planned to transfer any of the Patriot systems it is receiving from the United States to support Ukraine. He responded with a clear no.

"We have no current plans, as we have an operational requirement inside Bahrain to keep them there for the present time," the prince said.

Patriot for Ukraine

On July 9, US President Donald Trump confirmed that Ukraine had officially requested the transfer of Patriot air defense systems from Washington.

By July 14, it was revealed that the US and NATO had reached an agreement under which American weapons, including air defense systems, would be delivered to Ukraine, with the costs covered by European partners.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine would receive additional Patriot systems as part of a multi-layered agreement with its allies.

"We are doing everything to ensure Ukraine receives as many tools as possible to shoot down drones and missiles. We are finalizing a deal — a multilayered one — for new Patriot systems and missiles for them," the president stated.

Previously, media reports suggested that Trump might provide Ukraine with one more Patriot system.

Additionally, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi recently noted that Ukraine is negotiating not only the purchase of Patriot systems but also the acquisition of a broad range of other air defense capabilities.
