US President Donald Trump is considering providing Ukraine with an additional Patriot surface-to-air missile system, according to The Wall Street Journal.

According to two American officials, the White House chief made this promise following a recent commitment to strengthen Kyiv’s defense against Russian attacks.

At the same time, the administration has not yet disclosed which specific additional weapons are planned to be delivered to Ukraine in response to Putin’s refusal to end the conflict, which has now lasted for three years.

Suspension of US arms supplies to Ukraine

At the beginning of July, Western media reported that the US temporarily suspended deliveries of certain types of weapons to Ukraine, including missiles for air defense systems and precision-guided munitions.

The White House explained that this decision applies not only to Ukraine but to all partner countries due to a significant depletion of weapons stockpiles in American warehouses.

According to The Guardian, the suspension of deliveries is linked to a shortage of missiles for Patriot air defense systems.

On July 8, US President Donald Trump stated that Vladimir Putin is responsible for massive human losses, and therefore, Washington intends to send more defensive weapons to Ukraine.

Additionally, Trump said that Putin is talking a lot of nonsense and threatened the Kremlin leader with a surprise.

During a phone call with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Trump promised to provide 10 interceptors for the Patriot missile system.
