Eight EU countries allocate half a billion dollars for weapons for Ukraine under PURL
Eight European countries have announced $500 million in funding for the purchase of military equipment and ammunition for Ukraine as part of the PURL initiative.
Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, and Sweden will finance a joint defense package that includes the procurement of weapons from the United States.
Zelenskyy visits frontline in Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia region
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived at the frontline, visiting the Orikhiv sector in the Zaporizhzhia region.
The president visited the command post of the 65th Separate Mechanized Brigade, Velykyi Luh, which is part of the 17th Corps and is currently holding the defense. During the visit, the head of state received a briefing on the operational situation in the area, enemy activity, and Russian losses.
Zelenskyy on Pokrovsk: Any decision to withdraw troops is up to commanders
Ukraine is facing a challenging situation in Pokrovsk. Any decision on pulling troops back is up to the military commanders on the ground, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
According to him, Russian forces are trying to seize control of the city after months of intense fighting.
Ukraine to receive €6 billion from profits of frozen Russian assets – von der Leyen
Ukraine will receive a new €6 billion tranche from the European Union, funded by the profits generated from Russia’s frozen assets, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced.
“Europe will continue strengthening Ukraine’s resilience. We will compensate for the damage caused by Russian strikes,” she said.
