Zelenskyy unveils Ukraine’s Octopus interceptor drone to Starmer, gets big promise from UK

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during a meeting with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer in London, showcased Ukraine’s OCTOPUS interceptor drone. In turn, London pledged to produce the first batch of these drones for Ukraine, according to the president’s press service on Telegram.
“I demonstrated the Ukrainian OCTOPUS interceptor drone, which the United Kingdom will manufacture for further testing in Ukraine. The agreement provides for the production of the first batch,” Zelenskyy said.
During the meeting, the two sides also discussed expanding defense cooperation and strengthening sanctions pressure on Russia.
“The strengthening of sanctions policy should push Russia toward real negotiations. The recent sanctions packages from our partners are very important,” the head of state added.
The president also said that before the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, he coordinated key positions with Starmer, including:
- Security guarantees for Ukraine;
- Strengthening air defense;
- Expanding long-range strike capabilities;
- Enhancing energy resilience.
Meeting of the Coalition of the Willing in London
On October 24, a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing took place in London, attended by, among others, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
The key topics of the meeting included strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities ahead of winter, protecting the country’s energy sector, and increasing pressure on Russia.
It is noted that the Coalition of the Willing outlined a new five-point plan for Ukraine.
