NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte will travel to London on Friday, October 24, to take part in a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, according to NATO spokesperson Allison Hart.

The event is jointly organized by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron.

The meeting will be held in a hybrid format: some participants will attend in person, while others will join online.

Notably, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will also take part in the London meeting tomorrow. It comes amid calls from European leaders to draft a plan for a ceasefire in Ukraine and amid last week's meeting between Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump, after which Trump urged both sides to halt hostilities along the current front line.

Coalition of the Willing

Earlier, President Zelenskyy met with French President Emmanuel Macron ahead of the Coalition of the Willing meeting. They discussed the war, pressure on Russia, and the consequences of massive strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.

Last week, after his talks with US President Donald Trump, Zelenskyy held phone conversations with European leaders, saying he had discussed security guarantees with Trump, with the Coalition of the Willing playing a key role in that process.

According to Reuters, during his meeting with Zelensky, Trump suggested providing security guarantees to both Kyiv and Moscow.

On Sunday, October 19, Zelenskyy said he had instructed Ukrainian diplomats to prepare a new meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, emphasizing that Europe needs strong positions.
