President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron on the eve of the Coalition of the Willing meeting. They discussed the war, stopping Russia, and the consequences of the massive strikes on Ukraine’s energy sector, according to a statement from Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"Now is the time when there is a chance to end the war and stop Russia. To achieve this, it is necessary to continue increasing pressure on Russia, expand support for Ukraine, and finalize the development of security guarantees," he emphasized.

Zelenskyy added that he spoke with Macron about the consequences of Russia’s strikes on Ukraine and strengthening the country’s air defense.

"The resilience of our energy sector is now one of the key priorities. Also in focus are defense cooperation and concrete measures that can strengthen Ukraine," the Ukrainian leader noted.

Coalition of the Willing

Last week, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, after meeting with US President Donald Trump, called European leaders. He said he had discussed security guarantees with the US leader, noting that the Coalition of the Willing is a key partner in this matter.

Zelenskyy also pointed out that Ukraine continues to discuss the possibility of security guarantees from the US. According to him, the countries are "on the path to a result."

According to Reuters, during the meeting with Zelenskyy, Trump considered providing security guarantees to both Kyiv and Moscow.

On Sunday, October 19, the President of Ukraine said he had instructed Ukrainian diplomats to prepare a new meeting of the Coalition of the Willing. He added that Europe "needs strong positions."

RBC-Ukraine previously reported that Volodymyr Zelenskyy will personally participate in the Coalition of the Willing meeting, scheduled for Friday, October 24.
