President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit France tomorrow, March 26, to prepare for a security summit, Le Monde reports.

"The Head of State (Emmanuel Macron, President of France - ed.) will confirm to President Zelenskyy that France will make the continuation and strengthening of military and financial support for Ukraine its top priority," the press release says.

Security summit

According to Le Monde, the summit will be a continuation of the meetings in Paris and London that took place in recent weeks and were aimed at providing Ukraine with security guarantees as part of a possible future peace agreement with Russia.

The purpose of the new meeting will be to finalize the work on:

  • short-term military support for Ukraine;
  • a sustainable model of the Ukrainian army to prevent Russian invasions (in the future - ed.)
  • on security guarantees that European armies can provide as part of their deployment in Ukraine.

Over 20 countries from the European Union and NATO, including the UK, Canada, Norway, and Türkiye, were invited to the summit.

"Coalition of the willing"

In early March, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced the creation of a "coalition of the willing" to ensure peace in Ukraine. London also agrees to send a peacekeeping contingent to Ukrainian territory with air support and is preparing an action plan to ensure the country's security as part of a peace agreement with Russia.

The summit of the “coalition of the willing” also took place in Paris on March 27. Participants discussed more concrete steps to support Ukraine.
