Zelenskyy to attend Pope’s funeral

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will attend the funeral of Pope Francis, said Zelenskyy during a conversation with journalists.
Earlier, sources from RBC-Ukraine reported that Zelenskyy might attend the funeral of Pope Francis. The Presidential Office was waiting for the funeral date to plan Zelenskyy’s schedule.
Later, the President’s Communications Advisor, Dmytro Lytvyn, stated that Zelenskyy plans to attend the Pope’s funeral with the First Lady.
"The visit of the President, together with the First Lady, is planned," he said.
Death of Pope Francis
Yesterday morning, it was announced that Pope Francis had died
"Pope Francis died on Easter Monday, April 21, 2025, at the age of 88 at his residence in the Vatican's Casa Santa Marta," the statement read.
Later in the evening, the Vatican confirmed the official cause of the Pope's death. According to their information, Pope Francis suffered a stroke, after which he fell into a coma and died.
Today, it was announced that the funeral of Pope Francis will take place on Saturday, April 26, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
US President Donald Trump plans to attend the funeral of Pope Francis in Rome. He will arrive at the funeral with First Lady Melania Trump.
Pope Francis had condemned the war in Ukraine, calling for peace, compassion, and support for the victims.
