Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will attend the G7 summit in France, scheduled for mid-June. He intends to raise several issues, including Ukraine's security concerns, Politico reports.
According to three sources, Zelenskyy is expected to join the heads of state and government of France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States at the G7 summit in Évian-les-Bains.
One official specified that the Ukrainian president plans to discuss military diplomacy and air defense issues in order to counter Russian missile strikes.
At the same time, in March, an adviser to the French president said that Zelenskyy had not been invited to the summit, which will take place from June 15 to 17.
Ukraine intends to strengthen its air defenses
A few days ago, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. One of the main topics of the meeting concerned strengthening diplomatic efforts to obtain additional systems and missiles, including anti-ballistic defense capabilities.
"I also instructed the Ministry of Defense to intensify all available formats with partners for the supply of anti-ballistic capabilities. We must find what Ukraine needs," the president said.
In addition, about a week ago, it became known that Volodymyr Zelenskyy had sent a letter to US President Donald Trump regarding a critical shortage of air defense assets.
