The US peace plan to end the war between Ukraine and Russia could be expanded into deeper agreements, stated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
He said that work continued today on the text of the document drafted during the meeting between the Ukrainian and US delegations in Geneva.
"The principles of this document may be developed into deeper agreements. And it is in our shared interest to ensure that security becomes real. I am counting on further active cooperation with the American side and with President Trump," Zelenskyy noted.
According to him, much now depends on the United States, because Russia takes American power into account more than anything else.
The President also thanked all countries that are helping Ukraine on its path to peace.
US peace plan
The United States is currently trying to coordinate a peace plan with both Ukraine and Russia that would be acceptable to both sides.
Over the weekend, Ukrainian and US officials held talks in Geneva, during which some points were removed from the plan.
Meanwhile, on Monday, November 24, and today, November 25, US officials held talks with Russian representatives in Abu Dhabi, where they also discussed the terms of the peace plan.
Against this backdrop, US President Donald Trump said that a peace deal is now very close.
At the same time, the White House noted that Ukraine and Russia still have questions regarding only a few points of the peace plan, but those issues can be resolved.
