Zelenskyy, Starmer coordinate on Ukraine support and negotiation plans

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held talks with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. The leaders discussed defense support, energy issues, and peace initiatives.
Defense support, countering Russian shadow fleet
According to the president, the talks focused in particular on defense support for Ukraine, including contributions to the PURL program and efforts to counter Russia's shadow fleet.
"Ukraine appreciates every step the United Kingdom takes to support our people and weaken the aggressor," the head of state said.
Zelenskyy also briefed the British prime minister on the situation at the front and Russia's recent strikes on Ukraine.
The president stressed the need for a joint European air defense system.
"It is important for Europe to coordinate its efforts and develop a joint air defense system to protect against threats from Russia," he emphasized.

Negotiation process
Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine is ready for the next round of talks in a trilateral format aimed at achieving a just and dignified peace.
The two sides highly praised the United Kingdom's position on maintaining pressure on Russia.
Aid packages, preparations for talks
Earlier, reports emerged that Finland will allocate $300 million in defense support to Ukraine. During the meeting, the sides also held detailed discussions on strengthening Ukraine's air defense capabilities.
Also, the media reported that Zelenskyy works on a strategy for talks with Russia without US involvement. According to reports, the Ukrainian president is considering alternative formats and involving other European partners to continue the negotiations aimed at achieving a just peace.
