Zelenskyy sets objectives for Ukrainian defenders in eastern Black Sea
Ukrainian defenders need to deprive Russian occupiers of the ability to operate in the eastern part of the Black Sea, states the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
On the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the establishment of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), the head of state greeted the SSU employees with the holiday.
During his speech, the president reminded of the long-range and precision capabilities of Ukrainian drones both in the sky and on the ground.
Zelenskyy mentioned that Ukraine expects even greater effectiveness from the SSU in combating occupiers.
"Russian warships no longer have a safe place in the western part of the Black Sea and near our Crimea, but they must lose the opportunity to operate in the eastern part of the Black Sea as well," the head of state noted.
According to him, every occupier already understands that they cannot feel safe anywhere on the territory of our country, "they must lose even more logistics infrastructure, headquarters, depots – more material basis of this war."
Successes of Ukraine in the Black Sea
Back in November of last year, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russians were gradually losing control over the Black Sea and were retreating to the eastern waters.
This was happening against the backdrop of a series of successful strikes by Ukrainian defenders, during which ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet and the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol were destroyed.
In particular, the Security Service of Ukraine's Sea Baby surface drones were used for the attacks. Zelenskyy noted that the creation of the world's first fleet of marine drones led to Russia being unable to use the Black Sea as a foothold.
