Zelenskyy reveals Trump's three steps to de-escalate war with Russia

The administration of US President Donald Trump is pushing for three immediate steps as part of efforts to de-escalate Russia's war against Ukraine and restore diplomatic relations with Moscow, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated in an interview to Axios.
According to Zelenskyy, the steps are:
- a ceasefire in attacks against energy infrastructure;
- reopening the grain corridor in the Black Sea;
- a trilateral US-Ukraine-Russia meeting, possibly in Abu Dhabi.
The president said the proposal for a mutual halt to strikes on energy infrastructure came from the United States, and Ukraine is ready to agree to it.
"On the table now there is a proposition: energy ceasefire. We are ready," Zelenskyy said.
He also added that the United States wants to reopen the "grain corridor" and hold a trilateral meeting.
The US has proposed holding a meeting between technical teams first, rather than a meeting at the leaders' level. Abu Dhabi was suggested as a possible venue.
"We are open — any country, any format," the Ukrainian president emphasized.
Trump and Zelenskyy's statements on ending the war
On September 22, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.
After the meeting, Zelenskyy outlined a condition for an energy ceasefire with Russia.
Meanwhile, during his address to the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, Trump emphasized that the war in Ukraine would end "sooner than people think."
Zelenskyy also expressed hope that the war in Ukraine could be ended before winter with Trump's help.
