The next round of trilateral talks was scheduled for this week, but the meeting is being postponed at the proposal of the United States, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The President spoke about the results of his meeting with Ukraine’s negotiation team. The next meeting with the US and Russia, which has been postponed due to the situation in the Middle East, was discussed.

"It is important that we are in communication with the American side virtually 24/7. At the moment, the partners’ priority and all attention are focused on the situation around Iran, and because of this, the meeting that had been planned for this week is being postponed at the proposal of the American side," Zelenskyy wrote.

At the same time, Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine is ready for a meeting at any time in a format "that can help and that will be realistic in terms of ending the war."

"We see that the Russians are now trying to manipulate the situation in the Middle East and the Gulf region in favor of their aggression, and also to effectively turn the Iranian regime’s strikes against its neighbors and American bases into a second front of Russia’s war against Ukraine and, more broadly, against the entire West," he added.

Ending the war in Ukraine

On March 6, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that US President Donald Trump still believes that it's possible to achieve peace in Ukraine.

In addition, Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, recently also expressed optimism on the issue. According to him, work on the final document is ongoing, and new results are expected in the coming weeks.

A few days ago, Donald Trump said that Volodymyr Zelenskyy is allegedly hindering the achievement of a peace agreement. According to him, Ukraine is rapidly losing leverage in negotiations, while the Kremlin is ready for dialogue.
