Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is hindering the achievement of a peace agreement, while Ukraine is rapidly losing its bargaining position. At the same time, the Kremlin is reportedly ready for dialogue, states US President Donald Trump, according to Politico.
Claims against Zelenskyy
US President expressed dissatisfaction with Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s position on ending the war.
According to the American leader, the Ukrainian side is losing leverage, while the Kremlin is reportedly showing readiness for dialogue.
"Zelenksyy he has to get on the ball, and he has to get a deal done. It’s unthinkable that he’s the obstacle. You don’t have the cards. Now he’s got even less cards," Trump emphasized.
Plans regarding Iran and Cuba
In the context of the standoff with Tehran, Trump noted that the US intends to significantly influence who will lead the country after the current regime.
He stressed that he wants to avoid the emergence of a new leader who would again force the US into military intervention in ten years.
"We’ll work with the people and the regime to make sure that somebody gets there that can nicely build Iran but without nuclear weapons," the US president said.
Trump also predicted the fall of the communist government in Cuba.
According to him, this will be a logical result of the US cutting off financial flows and oil supplies from Venezuela, which had sustained the island’s viability.
Conflict with tech giants
In addition to foreign policy, Trump mentioned the breakdown of relations with the AI startup Anthropic due to their refusal to provide unlimited access to technologies for the Pentagon’s needs.
He added that currently, under the leadership of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, the US military is showing “amazing results,” and the whole world can see the strength of the army he built.
Negotiation situation
Recently, the process of organizing peace talks has faced difficulties. Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that planned negotiations in Abu Dhabi were in question.
Later, the head of state clarified that the dialogue with Russia has been postponed for now, although Ukraine continues to await constructive steps.
At the same time, Donald Trump recently publicly assessed Ukraine’s and Russia’s positions in his list of foreign policy priorities.
