Zelenskyy reveals how many missiles F-16 pilots destroyed during recent Russian strike
In response to a recent massive combined Russian airstrike on Ukrainian territory, F-16 fighter jets, provided earlier to the Ukrainian Armed Forces by Western partners, were deployed. The pilots of these aircraft shot down seven enemy cruise missiles, states Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his interview on Sky News.
According to Zelenskyy, the multi-role F-16 fighter jets in the Ukrainian Air Force are showing good results and high effectiveness in countering aerial threats from Russia.
"But how the F-16 for today work - very good, excellent mostly," he said.
At the same time, Zelenskyy noted that the number of such Western-made aircraft in Ukraine's Defense Forces remains quite limited, but they are still actively participating in repelling enemy attacks.
"We have a very small number of F-16s. What do they do now? Destroyed seven ballistic missiles two nights ago, seven missiles which went on the infrastructure, civilian infrastructure," the president shared.
