F-16 pilots take down 10 air targets during massive Russian attack, says Zelenskyy
F-16 fighters shot down 10 air targets during a large-scale Russian attack on November 17. In total, the air defense forces destroyed 144 targets, according to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
During the week, Russia fired almost 140 missiles of various types, more than 900 guided aerial bombs, and more than 600 attack drones at Ukraine.
Today Ukrainian F-16 pilots shot down about 10 air targets. The consequences of the combined attack on the infrastructure in the Rivne, Lviv, Dnipro, Volyn, and Odesa regions are being eliminated.
“Russian terrorists once again want to intimidate us with cold and lack of light. They are repeating their actions and trying to get results from them. The whole world sees and knows that we are defending ourselves against absolute evil, which does not understand any language but force. We need unity, the world needs unity. Only together can we stop this evil,” Zelenskyy added.
Large-scale shelling of Ukraine
On Sunday, November 17, Russia attacked Ukraine after almost a three-month break. They fired 120 missiles and 90 drones. Air defense forces destroyed 144 targets.
The enemy attacked the energy sector - generation facilities, including thermal power plants, and electricity transmission facilities. Emergency blackouts were introduced across Ukraine. The most difficult situation with electricity is in Odesa.
Hits were reported in the Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Volyn, Rivne, Ivano-Frankivsk, Vinnytsia, Poltava, and other regions. There are casualties and injuries as a result of the attack.
