On the morning of November 28, Russia launched another massive attack on Ukraine. The energy sector was again under Russian fire.

As early as the evening of November 27, the Ukrainian Air Force reported the launch of kamikaze drones. Russian drones were spotted in Sumy, Chernihiv, Poltava, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions.

At around 4:30 a.m. Kyiv time, the Ukrainian Air Force warned that Russia had taken off with Tu-95MS long-range bombers from the Olenya airfield in the Murmansk region of Russia. 7 aircraft took off and launched missiles.

The launches of Russian Kalibr cruise missiles from the Black Sea were also recorded. In this regard, a missile threat was declared throughout Ukraine.

Missile movement was recorded in the north, east, south, and center of Ukraine. Later, Russian missiles reached the western regions. Explosions were heard in many regions of Ukraine.

How many missiles and drones Russia launched

According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russians attacked Ukraine with 188 air attack weapons, namely:

  • 3 S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles from Belgorod region to Kharkiv region;
  • 57 Kh-101 cruise missiles from Tu-95MS strategic bombers;
  • 28 Kalibr cruise missiles from the Black Sea;
  • 3 Kh-59/69 guided missiles;
  • 97 Shaheds and unidentified drones.

Ukrainian Air Defense Forces destroyed 79 missiles and 39 drones over Ukraine. Another 62 Russian drones were lost in the area.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russian strikes by Kalibr systems with cluster munitions were recorded in several regions.

“These cluster munitions make it much more difficult for our rescuers and power engineers to eliminate the consequences of the strike, and this is a very despicable escalation of Russian terrorist tactics,” the President says.

Russia struck Ukrainian energy sector

Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko says that today the Russians again targeted the Ukrainian energy sector.

“Once again, the energy sector is under massive Russian attack. Attacks on energy facilities are taking place all over Ukraine,” he writes on social media.

Ukrenergo reported that emergency blackouts were introduced in Ukraine due to a massive Russian attack.

YASNO CEO Serhii Kovalenko warned that, according to Ukrenergo's forecast, emergency power outages could last until 8 p.m. Kyiv time. According to him, the situation in the power system is difficult.

Kyiv

The air alert in Kyiv was announced at 11:50 p.m. Kyiv time on November 27 and lasted all night. In the morning, air defense systems were operating in Kyiv and explosions were heard.

The Kyiv City Military Administration reported that Russian rocket debris fell in the Dniprovskyi district of the capital. According to preliminary information, the debris fell on an open area in the Dniprovskyi district. There were no reports of casualties or damage.

Later, KCMA also stated that debris also fell on the territory of an enterprise in the Darnytskyi district. Several outbuildings and a truck were damaged. There were no casualties.

The KCMA clarified that the Russian army attacked Kyiv at night with drones, and later in the morning with Kh-101 missiles from Tu-95MS strategic aircraft. The missiles came at Kyiv from different directions. The air raid in the capital lasted for almost 9 and a half hours. All missiles and drones that threatened Kyiv were destroyed by the Ukrainian Air Defense Forces.

Kyiv region

Russia damaged an infrastructure facility in the Kyiv region. A fire broke out and has been extinguished. A building and two cars were damaged.

In another area of the region, a private house, a non-residential building, and a hangar were damaged. According to the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, 2 people were injured. They went to the hospital with minor injuries on their own.

Lutsk

Lutsk Mayor Ihor Polishchuk reported several Russian strikes on the city. According to him, part of Lutsk was left without electricity, and public transportation was out of order.

The mayor added that critical infrastructure was connected to alternative energy sources. Schoolchildren have been transferred to online classes, and Points of Unbreakability are working.

Lviv region

The head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration said that Russia attacked energy infrastructure facilities.

As of 9:50 a.m. Kyiv time, 523,000 residents in the Lviv region were left without electricity due to Russian shelling and power outages.

The Drohobych district military administration reported that Russia struck a critical infrastructure facility. There is no information about the victims.

Sumy region

According to the Sumy Regional Military Administration, in the morning, Russians launched a missile attack on the infrastructure of the Shostka community. 3 explosions were recorded.

Relevant services are working at the site of the Russian strikes.

Kharkiv

Around 6 a.m. Kyiv time, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported explosions in the city. According to him, Russians launched a rocket attack on one of the largest districts of Kharkiv.

“According to preliminary information, all the strikes hit the territory of one of Kharkiv's civilian enterprises in the Kyivskyi district,” Terekhov later clarified.

As of the morning, there was no information about the victims.

Odesa region

Russia attacked the Odesa region with rockets. According to the Odesa Regional Military Administration, 6 houses were damaged in the Odesa district, and there was a casualty. The falling debris of one of the missiles also caused a fire in the dry grass.

A garage in Odesa was on fire as a result of the Russian attack. The first shift in Odesa schools is working remotely today.

Prosecutors reported that 3 people were injured, including a 16-year-old child.

Lutsk region

According to the head of the Lutsk Regional Military Administration, the Russians sent missiles at critical infrastructure, and the fires have been extinguished. There were no casualties, but private outbuildings were damaged.

In the Lutsk region, about 215,000 people are left without electricity. The infrastructure was powered by generators.

The region has assembled a thermal power plant and emergency response headquarters to deal with the consequences of the Russian attack. Additional Points of Unbreakability are being opened to provide electricity, internet, and heat.

Mykolaiv

Explosions were heard in the city. Due to the power outage, trolleybuses and trams are not working in Mykolaiv. Educational institutions are also closed in the city.

Rivne region

Russians struck the energy infrastructure facility. There are 280,000 people without electricity in the region, and 681 settlements are without power. There are also interruptions in water supply. Schools in Rivne and parts of Rivne district have been switched to online classes.

Vinnytsia region

According to the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration, a Russian rocket attack damaged residential buildings, destroyed an outbuilding, and set a private car on fire. A woman was injured.

Khmelnytskyi region

3 Russian rockets were destroyed in the region, an outbuilding was damaged, and no casualties were reported. There is a partial power outage in Shepetivka and Khmelnytskyi districts.

Kherson

The city is left without power, electric transport is not working. Kherson has introduced a water supply schedule: from 6 to 8 a.m. and from 5 to 8 p.m. Kyiv time.

Zhytomyr

The city is left without power as a result of a Russian rocket attack. The infrastructure is being connected to generators.

Ivano-Frankivsk region

Russia struck critical infrastructure facilities. Damage to residential buildings was reported, with no casualties.

Kirovohrad region

Russians attack with drones and missiles. A fire breaks out.

Chernivtsi region

Ukrainian Air Defense Forces destroyed a Russian missile in the Chernivtsi region. The falling debris damaged residential buildings in the Dnistrovskyi district.

Train delays

According to Ukrzaliznytsia, over 150 trains are running as scheduled, and the traffic situation is stable.

Due to power outages in certain areas, delays of just over an hour have been recorded for six trains, and backup diesel locomotives are in operation.
