Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out successful strikes on an oil refinery in the Russian city of Saratov, and on several other military and infrastructure sites on Russian territory, reports President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Details of long-range strikes
According to the president, overnight Ukrainian forces employed "long-range sanctions" against an oil refinery in Saratov, located about 700 kilometers from the front line.
In addition, successful strikes on targets were recorded in other regions of Russia — including the Rostov and Kirov regions, as well as a military base on the Caspian Sea.
"Our Defense Forces of Ukraine are carrying out long-range tasks in line with the approved priorities of this sanctions plan. A significant result. Thank you!" Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

Target geography expands
The president also summarized the results of Ukrainian operations over the past week.
Based on his data, Ukraine's Defense Forces successfully struck targets in Russia's Yaroslavl, Ryazan, Voronezh, Volgograd, Rostov, Novgorod, Nizhny Novgorod, and Krasnodar regions.
He noted that the affected sites were located between 300 and 1,200 kilometers from Ukraine's state border.
"The Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, our intelligence agencies — thank you!" Volodymyr Zelenskyy added.
Strikes on Russian oil refining sector
In recent weeks, Ukrainian drones have increasingly targeted oil infrastructure facilities on Russian territory.
In particular, on the night of May 30, Russia experienced another drone attack. In the city of Taganrog in the Rostov region, a tanker was hit, while an oil depot in Armavir in the Krasnodar region came under attack.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy later confirmed a strike on a Russian oil depot located about 500 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. He stressed that Ukraine is fully justified in bringing the war back to where it originated.
In addition, on the night of May 31, Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully struck the Saratovsky oil refinery in the Volga region, which is part of Rosneft and supplies fuel to the Russian army. A large fire was reported at the facility.
