Zelenskyy responds to Russia's brazen attack on Ukraine

Russia launched 40 missiles and around 580 drones at Ukraine during the night of September 20, targeting civilian infrastructure, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Telegram.
The attacks hit Dnipro and its region, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhia, as well as communities in Poltava, Kyiv, Odesa, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions.
"The enemy’s targets were our infrastructure, residential areas, and civilian enterprises. In Dnipro, a missile with cluster munitions struck a high-rise building directly," the president said.
Zelenskyy reported that dozens were injured in the attacks, and three people were killed.
The president emphasized that each of these strikes is not a military necessity, but a deliberate Russian strategy to intimidate civilians and destroy infrastructure.
"That is why a strong international response is needed. Ukraine has proven it can defend itself and Europe, but for a reliable shield we must act together: strengthen air defense, increase arms supplies, and expand sanctions against Russia’s military machine and the sectors that fund it," Zelenskyy added.
