Zelenskyy on Trump–Putin call: 'I'm not sure they have much in common'

Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump are completely different people, and therefore they do not have many topics in common, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a briefing with EU leaders.
The Ukrainian head of state commented on the phone call between Trump and Putin, which began at 5:00 p.m. Kyiv time.
Zelenskyy noted that the two leaders are fundamentally different individuals and likely do not have many shared topics for discussion. However, regarding Ukraine, he mentioned that the idea of an unconditional ceasefire, proposed by President Trump, had been raised early on.
He also pointed out that in Russia, all key decisions are made solely by Putin. Therefore, he believes that achieving peace would require direct talks at the level of national leaders.
