Attack on Kyiv region leaves growing number of casualties, new photos show damage

Six people were injured in Russia’s attack on Kyiv and the Kyiv region on August 31. Three of them are in hospitals in serious condition, while emergency crews continue working to clear the aftermath at several sites, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated.
Casualties after the attack
The mayor said six people were injured as a result of Russia’s attack on the capital and the Kyiv region. Most of them were injured in the village of Pohreby. Three of those injured were hospitalized at city hospitals and are in serious condition.
Warehouses catch fire in the region
Following the Russian strikes, emergency crews are working at several sites in the Brovary and Boryspil districts of the Kyiv region. Fires broke out at warehouse facilities, and the State Emergency Service published photos showing efforts to contain the aftermath of the attack.
Additional personnel and equipment from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine were deployed to deal with the consequences of the strikes.

Initially, the Kyiv City Military Administration reported that warehouses had caught fire in Kyiv’s Desnianskyi district. The information was later clarified: the fire occurred in the village of Pohreby outside Kyiv.
Witnesses reported seeing a large column of smoke rising over the site of the strike. Before the attack, Ukraine’s Air Force had warned of a drone threat, including jet-powered drones heading toward Kyiv.
Russia also struck a Nova Poshta terminal in the Odesa region, sparking a fire at the facility. The blaze has since been extinguished, and no casualties were reported.
