Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy may visit London on Monday, December 8, as he told RBC-Ukraine on the sidelines of the second military prayer breakfast.
“I will go to London. I think that the meeting will most likely take place on Monday,” he said.
The president added that he is awaiting talks with the Ukrainian delegation currently in the United States regarding negotiations on President Donald Trump's peace plan.
“I am still waiting to talk to the United States, to our team there in the United States. And if everything is active, we will be in London,” he said.
Zelenskyy added that NSDC Secretary Rustem Umerov will report to him on the negotiations with the Americans by phone.
Negotiations on the US peace plan
The negotiation process on the American peace plan for Ukraine continues. Initially, Western media reported that the document contained 28 points, including provisions that essentially repeated Russia's maximum demands on Ukraine to end the war.
According to influential media, Russian officials may have been involved in the development of this plan.
On October 23 and 30, consultations were held between the US and Ukrainian delegations to revise the text and make it more acceptable to Kyiv. The first meeting took place in Geneva, Switzerland, and the second in Miami.
On December 2, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, Donald Trump's son-in-law, arrived in Moscow to hold talks with Vladimir Putin on the updated version of the document.
After five hours of discussions, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said that no agreement had been reached yet, but that the parties were determined to continue working on it.
As a result of the consultations, the US and Ukraine managed to agree on 20 points, but the most controversial issues remain open.
