A lot could be decided before the New Year. These are currently some of the most active diplomatic days, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"These are some of the most active diplomatic days of the year right now, and a lot could be decided before the New Year. We are doing everything for this, but whether decisions are made depends on our partners — on those who help Ukraine and on those who pressure Russia so that Russians feel the consequences of their own aggression," Zelenskyy said.

The president noted that in just one week, Russia has launched more than 2,100 attack drones, about 800 guided aerial bombs, and 94 missiles of various types.

"All of this is directed against our people, against life and everything that sustains it — first and foremost against our energy infrastructure," the president stressed.

According to him, repair crews, energy workers, and emergency responders from the State Emergency Service are working literally 24/7 to protect people’s lives and restore the electricity supply.

"But it is just as important that sanctions against Russia work, that all forms of political pressure for aggression are applied, that Ukraine receives air defense missiles, and that we all finalize the formats of steps that will end this war and guarantee security. These are exactly the steps we will be discussing with our partners today," Zelenskyy added.

Zelenskyy–Trump meeting

As a reminder, today, December 28, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will meet with US President Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida at 8:00 p.m. Kyiv time.

During the meeting, Zelenskyy plans to resolve key disagreements over the draft peace agreement.

The Ukrainian president has said he will definitely raise territorial issues during talks with Trump.

According to him, he will discuss both Donbas and the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. European partners will also join the meeting with Trump online.

It is worth noting that Zelenskyy has already arrived in the United States for the meeting with Trump.
