On Sunday, December 28, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy may meet with US President Donald Trump. The meeting is planned to take place at Trump's residence in Florida, according to a statement by Axios reporter Barak Ravid.
As the journalist said, citing an unnamed Ukrainian official, the meeting will take place at Mar-a-Lago.
"President Trump will meet Ukrainian president Zelenskyy on Sunday in Mar-a-Lago, per a Ukrainian official," Barak Ravid wrote in a brief post.
Mar-a-Lago is a private residence in Florida owned by US President Donald Trump.
US peace plan
Earlier, Zelenskyy said an agreement had been reached to hold a meeting with Trump in the near future.
Earlier on December 26, Zelenskyy announced a meeting with US President Donald Trump regarding a peace plan.
According to the president, National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov briefed him on his latest contacts with the US side.
"We are not losing a single day. We have agreed on a meeting at the highest level — with President Trump in the near future. A lot could be decided before the New Year," Zelensky said.
On December 24, the Ukrainian president, for the first time, revealed the contents of a 20-point peace plan agreed with the United States.
Earlier, US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker predicted the timeline for reaching peace between Ukraine and Russia.
He said that at the current stage of negotiations, with White House mediation, a peace agreement could be reached "within the next 90 days."
At the same time, the ambassador acknowledged that while Ukraine is suffering from Russian attacks on its energy sector, Russia is also sustaining significant damage from Ukrainian strikes, which is why the war should end.
The draft peace agreement has already been handed over to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In recent days, Kremlin envoy Kirill Dmitriev delivered the documents to Moscow, after which Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov said the Kremlin is currently analyzing the materials brought by Dmitriev following talks in Miami.
