Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will meet with US President Donald Trump in the near future to discuss a peace plan, the head of state reported.
According to the president, National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov reported to him on his latest contacts with the American side.
"We are not losing a single day. We have agreed on a meeting at the highest level — with President Trump in the near future. A lot could be decided before the New Year," Zelenskyy said.
US peace plan
Ukraine and the United States held a series of consultations during a meeting in Miami on December 19–21, focusing on four key documents — parts of a future peace agreement. Most issues were agreed upon, but the most challenging topic remains the territorial issue.
Yesterday, December 24, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for the first time disclosed the content of the 20 points of the peace plan.
In the United States, it was stated that settling the war in Ukraine and achieving lasting peace there is quite possible within the next 90 days. The administration of US President Donald Trump plans to put pressure on both sides — Russia and Ukraine.
Meanwhile, according to media reports, Russia will demand changes to the latest version of the US peace plan to end the war in Ukraine. In particular, the Kremlin wants more restrictions on the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as the resolution of issues related to sanctions and the frozen assets they affect.
