Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has arrived in the US. He is scheduled to meet with US President Donald Trump, according to Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Serhiy Kyslytsya on X and Suspilne.
In his post, Serhiy Kyslytsya shared a photo of the plane and wrote: “Good evening Florida.”
At the same time, Suspilne also reported Zelenskyy’s arrival in the US, citing their own correspondent.
Meeting announcement
On December 26, President Zelenskyy said he would soon meet with US President Donald Trump to discuss the peace plan.
We are not losing a single day. We have agreed on a meeting at the highest level — with President Trump in the near future. A lot could be decided before the New Year,” Zelenskyy said.
On the same day, Axios reporter Barak Ravid reported that Zelenskyy could meet Trump on Sunday, December 28. The meeting is scheduled to take place at Trump’s residence in Florida.
“President Trump will meet Ukrainian president Zelenskyy on Sunday in Mar-a-Lago, per a Ukrainian official,” Ravid wrote in a brief post.
US peace plan
On December 24, President Zelenskyy publicly shared the contents of the US-agreed peace plan for the first time. The plan consists of 20 points.
In addition to the peace plan itself, there are the following documents:
- Trilateral document on security guarantees – involving Ukraine, the US, and Europe.
- Bilateral document – US security guarantees for Ukraine.
- Roadmap for Ukraine’s prosperity – a document developed with the US on reconstruction and economic development, outlining a vision for growth up to 2040.
On the eve of this announcement, US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker outlined a tentative timeline for a possible peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia. According to him, given the current stage of negotiations and US mediation, a peace deal could be achieved within the next 90 days.
Whitaker also acknowledged that despite Russia’s strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure, the Russian side is suffering significant losses from Ukrainian attacks, which, in his view, encourages progress toward ending the war.
The draft peace agreement has already been delivered to Vladimir Putin. Recently, Kremlin special envoy Kirill Dmitriev brought the documents to Moscow. Following this, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said the materials, obtained after the Miami talks, are currently under review in Moscow.
Today, Zelenskyy stated that he plans to discuss five key issues during his meeting with Trump.
The negotiations will cover the following points:
- Ukraine–US security guarantees
- Ukraine–Europe security guarantees
- Military dimension
- Prosperity and reconstruction plan (the reconstruction plan includes many supporting documents)
- Roadmap of sequential actions
