Zelenskyy imposes sanctions on Russia, China, Iran, and UAE companies backing Russia's war

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed Decree No. 555/2025, which enacted the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on new sanctions against companies and individuals supporting Russian aggression, according to Vladyslav Vlasiuk, the president's representative on sanctions policy.
The restrictions will affect dozens of individuals and legal entities, including those from Russia, China, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates.
On July 27, Zelenskyy signed a decree enacting the NSDC's decision on new sanctions.
The full list of individuals and companies will be published separately, but the Office of the President has already confirmed that this is part of the fight against the shadow fleet and schemes for supplying dual-use goods to the Russian military-industrial complex.
According to Vladyslav Vlasiuk, the representative for sanctions policy, the new package covers companies and individuals from Russia, China, the UAE, Iran, and other countries.
Some of them are involved in supplying military technology to Russia in circumvention of international restrictions.
"In the 18th package of EU sanctions, we have identified 8 individuals and 45 legal entities for synchronization, including companies from Russia, China, the UAE, Iran, and others," Vlasiuk told reporters.
About 40% of those targeted by the new European sanctions were already subject to restrictions by Ukraine. This demonstrates the effective coordination of Kyiv's actions with its international partners.
"The more synchronization, the more difficult it is to circumvent sanctions," Vlasiuk emphasized.
US sanctions against Russia
US Senator Lindsey Graham has drafted a bill imposing tough sanctions against Russia. It provides for 500% secondary tariffs against countries that buy oil from Russia, as well as natural gas, uranium, and much more.
US President Donald Trump has threatened Russia with new sanctions if Vladimir Putin does not agree to end the war against Ukraine. The American leader has given the Kremlin 50 days to comply with this ultimatum. Trump has promised to impose 100% secondary tariffs.
According to Trump, if Putin does not agree to meet the deadline and agree to a peace deal, it will turn out very badly for Russia.
