Zelenskyy holds first call with Tusk after Polish elections: Key topics revealed

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk. They discussed the elections in Poland, Russia's war against Ukraine, and Ukraine's accession to the EU.
"It is important that Poland remains a reliable partner and friend. Much depends on our unity, shared position, and coordinated actions – especially when it comes to security," Zelenskyy says.
Zelenskyy added that honoring historical memory is an important issue in Ukrainian-Polish relations, and both sides are working on it.
Zelenskyy told Tusk about his conversation with US President Donald Trump and European leaders, and the preparation of the next steps. The President emphasized that pressure on Russia in response to the prolongation of the war should be tangible.
"We also coordinated positions regarding the necessity to open the first negotiation clusters under Poland’s Presidency of the EU. Ukraine, for its part, has done everything necessary and deserves it," he added.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk joined the initiators of the Coalition of the Willing. It is headed by French President Emmanuel Macron and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, as well as German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
