Zelenskyy goes to Brussels and reveals visit details
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy left for Brussels on Thursday, October 17. He will present his victory plan to European leaders.
A special meeting of the European Council at the level of leaders will be held in Brussels.
“I will present the Victory Plan – our tool for compelling Russia to seek peace. All European leaders will hear how our positions must be strengthened. We must end this war fairly,” the President notes.
The head of state will also take part in the meeting with President Roberta Mecola and heads of political groups in the European Parliament. He will also meet with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. According to the President, a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council at the level of defense ministers is being prepared.
Ukraine's victory plan
On Wednesday, October 16, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented a victory plan to the Ukrainian Parliament. The plan consists of five main points and three secret annexes. They contain classified information that was presented to individual partners.
According to Mykhailo Podoliak, an adviser to the head of the Presidential Office, the secret annexes refer to strikes against Russia and the weapons needed for this.
The victory plan also includes an invitation to Ukraine to join NATO. Earlier, diplomats said that Ukraine wants to receive an invitation to join before US President Joe Biden leaves office.
