Zelenskyy confirms Russia’s plan to launch 1,000 drones a day

Russia is indeed planning to launch 1,000 strike drones per day. The plan of the Russian leader, Vladimir Putin, is to intimidate Ukraine and destroy its economy. But Putin will fail - everything the Russian army launches will be shot down, stated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a press briefing after the Ukraine Recovery Conference on July 10 in Rome.
Zelenskyy noted that Russia’s plan is to frighten Ukrainian society. Constant air raid alerts lasting 7 to 10 hours prevent people from sleeping and force them to hide in shelters. And in the morning, they have to go to work, because it is the people who keep Ukraine’s economy running.
"And Putin understands this clearly. With these attacks, he wants to destabilize our population. First of all, we will respond. Secondly, they plan to launch 1,000 drones, 700 to 1,000 per day. If our partners fully hear everything I discussed with them, we will intercept all of it," the President said.
Zelenskyy reminded that Ukraine has developed and successfully tested drone interceptors that shoot down Shahed drones. The Ukrainian defense industry is capable of producing them on a large scale. All that is needed is funding.
"We’ll be able to mass-produce them. We need to speed up funding for these efforts. What matters is that the key has been found by Ukrainians. And by Americans," the President concluded.
Russia plans to launch 1,000 drones
Recently, the new commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert "Madyar" Brovdi, warned that Russian forces may soon be capable of launching up to 1,000 Shahed drones per day. This assessment is based on intelligence provided by Ukrainian security services.
Ukraine’s Air Force, however, believes that such a scale of drone attacks is currently beyond Russia’s capabilities, though they admit the enemy is rapidly increasing drone production.
Meanwhile, during the night of July 9, Russian forces launched 728 Shahed and Geran drones at Ukraine. On the night of July 10, they launched another 397 strike drones and decoys. In total, Russia launched 1,125 drones during two nights.
